Glassbrook Ensemble

April 2, 2017 @ 7:00 pm - 9:00 pm

Preservation New Jersey presents the debut performance of the Glassbrook Vocal Ensemble in a program of songs from Bach to Whitacre in the beautiful acoustics of the 1867 Sanctuary.

The Glassbrook Vocal Ensemble is an emerging professional choir. They seek to serve our regional arts community by supplying the highest caliber of choral repertoire to the needs of the Greater New Jersey and Trenton area.

Conductor and co-founder (with Emily Vite, Emily Vite, Lauren Kelly, Alexa Agourides, and Lucas DeJesus) Chaequan Anderson is an American tenor, keyboardist, conductor, and teacher. He holds a Bachelor of Arts in Music from Westminster Choir College of Rider University where he studied the choral arts, vocal performance, conducting, and music education. With the Westminster Symphonic Choir, he sang Beethoven’s 9th Symphony with Philadelphia Orchestra and Berlin Philharmonic at Carnegie Hall. He also sang Gustav Mahler’s Resurrection Symphony No. 2 with the Philadelphia Orchestra. With the Westminster Choir, Chaequan performed in one of the first fully staged performances of John Adam’s El Niño at Spoleto Festival USA in Charleston, South Carolina. Chaequan made his professional solo debut as the tenor soloist in Mozart’s Requiem Mass with the VOICES Chorale of Hopewell.

As a teacher and conductor, Chaequan has held fellowship positions the Princeton Girlchoir (PGC) and Assistant Conductor of the Training choir with the Trenton Children’s Chorus (TCC). Chaequan was also the Choirmaster for the Rho Kappa Chapter of Phi Mu Alpha Sinfonia Fraternity (PMA), America’s largest male music fraternity. Currently, Chaequan serves as the Organist at Neshanic United Methodist Church and Middle School Music Teacher for the Christina Seix Academy in Trenton, NJ.

Admission is free. Donations are invited to support the ensemble and the restoration of the historic 1867 Sanctuary.

Free parking is available in the church parking lot across the street near the marked crossing. The 1867 Sanctuary is wheelchair accessible using the ramp on the left side of the building.
